The Accredited Practitioner program provides a framework in which members' professional standing can be rigorously assessed by a panel of expert assessors. Members successfully passing the assessment may use the post nominals "AITD AP" as evidence of their high professional standing.

Learning and development professionals who have been members of AITD for at least one year are eligible for apply for AP status. Applicants need to submit a detailed statement of claims, supporting evidence of their achievements and skills, and referee contacts. Applications are considered three times per year.

The objectives of AITD's Accredited Practitioner program are to:

  • Recognise excellence in training and development
  • Raise the professional standards of training and development
  • Promote the importance of ongoing professional development
